Burghfield – By Royal Appointment

This weekend staff and cadets from 2402 (Burghfield) Air cadets will be paying their own birthday tribute to HM The Queen when they fly down The Mall at 1,000 Feet in an RAF Odiham Chinook.

The flypast of 25 aircraft of 11 types will mark the end of the Queens Birthday Parade in London which is being mounted by the Scots Guards this year. The flight is a key part of the Air Cadet 70 celebrations that will see 70 cadets and staff from the ATC and CCF(RAF) fly in a Hercules, two HS125’s and a Chinook.

You can watch the Flypast, which passes over Central London at 1pm, on BBC1 this Saturday and see a full report from our team of reporters next week.
